God has given humans so many gifts. Among these are free will, joy, love, intellect, and diversity. Life is one of God´s utmost offerings for humans because it allows us to live for God through Jesus. Many people have given their insight on life, and its importance. I personally cherish these opinions for they are the words expressed by humans through God´s allowance. According to Vince Lombardi, "The quality of a person´s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavour". Aldous Huxley claims that, "Experience is not what happens to you; it is what you do with what happens to you". All these people said intelligent things regarding life; its joys and hardships. Every person in this world can relate to these authors, for they write the autobiography of every person´s life. Joy is an emotion felt, at one time or another, in every human heart. It is what helps you wake up every morning knowing that today is a new day with new feelings, experiences, and situations. Joy is what allows your face to produce a smile, your heart to thump, and your stomach to vibrate. In Much Ado About Nothing, Shakespeare wrote that, "Silence is the perfectest herald of joy. I were but little happy if I could say how much." George Bernard Shaw said that, "We have no more right to consume happiness without producing it than to consume wealth without producing it." Humans should thank God that he allowed this feeling to penetrate our hearts. What quality of life would we possess if it wasn´t for happiness? For every moment of happiness there is also a moment of hardship. In the beginning, God gave humans choice and we chose a path with twists and turns instead of a straight road. We continue to choose that path; therefore, we bring suffering and hardships upon ourselves. Because of God´s gracious love, "Human misery must somewhere have a stop: there is no wind that always blows a storm" (Euripides). Marcel Proust once said that, "We are healed of a suffering only by experiencing it to the full". To help us overcome our destitution, God has given us hope, and, "The hope set before us...is like an anchor safe and sure" (Hebrews 6.19). Longfellow said that one "must know how sublime a thing it is to suffer and be strong". All of life is constructed of many emotions produced by experiences that shape who we are. Are you a happy, fulfilled human being? Is most of your life filled with joy despite the winding paths? Do you realize what gifts God has given you? Have you thanked God for all the experiences in your life that have made you stronger?
